The latest meeting of the advisory board of the Kompetenzzentrum Inklusive Bildung Sachsen-Anhalt (KIB) took place last Thursday at Hochschule Magdeburg-Stendal.

After a brief review of the developments and activities of recent months, the focus was above all on one key issue: joint exchange on how to further strengthen and anchor KIB.

As part of a thematically focused discussion, participants talked in depth about how KIB can be supported even more effectively at a political and structural level. The discussion focused in particular on how access to politics, administration, associations and companies can be further expanded, which strategic partners are especially relevant for future development, and how the impact of KIB’s work – for example through findings from the annual report – can be made even more visible.

The advisory board members contributed numerous concrete suggestions and impulses, which will now feed into KIB’s further work. Once again, the exchange showed how valuable the different perspectives from politics, administration, higher education and advisory structures are for the continued development of the Kompetenzzentrum.

There was also a particular reason to celebrate: the advisory board has been expanded. Evelyn Grimm, Chief Representative for Employees with Severe Disabilities at the Ministry of Science, Energy, Climate Protection and the Environment of the State of Saxony-Anhalt; Juliane Kleemann, Member of the State Parliament for the SPD; Nehle Schilly, prospective Head of Administration at the Stendal campus; Frauke Büttner, advisor at the Saxony-Anhalt Anti-Discrimination Office in Stendal; and Miriam Zeller, member of Stendal City Council for Bündnis 90/Die Grünen, have joined the committee as new members.

The meeting made one thing clear: the advisory board is an important space for impulses, networking and joint reflection, and therefore a central building block for the further development of KIB.
