From September 15 to 17, 2025, the nationwide conference “Educational Specialists in Germany. Exchange – Knowledge – Experiences” took place in Kiel. Educational specialists (current and in training) and their pedagogical teams from all German locations came together to present their work, share experiences, and develop common perspectives. The Competence Center for Inclusive Education Saxony-Anhalt (KIB) also participated with the entire team.
Exchange and Networking
At the heart of the conference was the exchange between the various locations. Participants reported on their experiences in educational work, presented seminar concepts, and provided insights into their current activities. It became clear how valuable networking beyond the individual sites is.
Our Contribution in Kiel
For KIB, the conference was an excellent opportunity to highlight the key areas of our work. We presented our ongoing qualification program, which has been running at the Stendal location since 2024. In addition, we showcased how we design and implement our educational programs. Our workshop contributions demonstrated that our site has continuously professionalized in recent years – both in terms of content and in its structural integration within and beyond the university.
Impulses for the Future
The workshops and presentations at the conference provided many ideas for the further development of our work. New methods, examples from other sites, and open discussions about opportunities and challenges gave us important impulses for the future. “At the conference I realized that, despite initial uncertainty, I was able to present our work. I was proud of that,” summarized KIB educational specialist Sabine Schulze.
Positive Outcome
We look back on three intensive days in Kiel and draw a very positive conclusion. The event impressively demonstrated how valuable the nationwide collaboration of educational specialists is. “For me, it was impressive to see how well our team worked together. The trip was harmonious, and we gained many new impressions,” emphasized KIB qualification participant Christian Ebeling.
The contacts and ideas gained will sustainably enrich our work and contribute to further strengthening the professionalization of educational specialists.
